Pipe Elbow
A pipe elbow is a pipe fitting installed between two lengths of pipes to allow a change of direction, usually 45°, 90° or 180°. While 60° pipe elbow and other unusual elbows can also be made to meet the special requirements.
Pipe elbows can be made from many materials, such as carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, high-strength low-alloy steel, low-temperature steel, and some others. The ends to connect pipes may be machined for butt welding, threaded connection, or socket welding.
According to their radius, most elbows can be divided into short radius elbows and long radius elbows. The long radius elbows have a center to end distance that is 1.5 times the NPS in inches (R=1.5D), while the short radius is equal to the NPS in inches (R=1.0D).
